Dubai hospitality newcomer, Roda Hotels & Resorts, is a Hotelier Middle East Power 50 newcomer as well.
The company, which started four years ago as the hospitality arm of Dubai International Real Estate (DIRE), has expanded fairly rapidly since its inception.
In November, Rotana and DIRE mutually agreed to the termination of the management agreement of Al Bustan Hotel and Al Murooj Hotel in Dubai, effective from 1 January, 2017. In December 2016, the owners of the two properties appointed Roda Hotels & Resorts, which at the time was relatively untested within the UAE hospitality industry, to take over the management.
Prior to taking the role as Roda Hotels & Resorts’ CEO, Imad Elias’ extensive hospitality career included serving as general manager, regional director, vice president, and chief operating officer for Hilton Hotels & Resorts and Rotana Hotels & Resorts in the Middle East.
With a total of six hotels currently operational, Roda has ambitious growth plans. Nine new hotels and approximately 4,500 room keys are in the pipeline at the moment.
Elias explains to Hotelier that Roda’s ultimate vision is to ensure that the company succeeds in reaching its goals through a combination of “efficient and streamlined operational services”.
