Jamal Serhan has spent six years with Warwick Hotels and Resorts as its CEO. He is spearheading the creation of two more brands under the Warwick umbrella. “We are in discussions,” he tells Hotelier Middle East.

The single-brand operator runs 10 hotels in the region, with six hotels in the pipeline, which will add 1,800 more rooms to the current count of 1,300 keys. Warwick plans to expand to new markets in the region, including Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.

Serhan, with 35 years of experience under his belt, plans to “create a very strong brand for our company across the globe, especially in the MENA region, and develop a great team that makes a difference
in the industry”.

Responsible for 1,200 staff in MENA, Serhan believes his priority is to help people develop their skills, empowering and leading by example.

He says: “I am [at the top] in this position, however, I strive to learn and find new ways to operate.”

Warwick Hotels and Resorts (WHR) is a global hospitality company, encompassing more than 50 hotels with more than 8,000 rooms in 25 countries. Richard Chiu set up the company is 1980, in New York City, US with the purchase of the Warwick Hotel.
