With over a decade under his belt at Time Hotels Management, Mohamed Awadalla has taken the home grown hospitality management company from strength to strength.
Time Hotels currently operates 13 properties in the Middle East and North Africa across three brands: Time Hotels & Resorts, Time Hotels Express, Time Hotel Apartments, and Time Residence.
In April 2018, Time Hotels Management opened its Time Beach Villas Resort in Jeddah, with further openings earmarked for the kingdom.
Later this year, the group will debut its Time Express Hotels brand in Sharjah with the opening of a three-star property in Sharjah.
Given the group’s growth in operating properties Time Hotels has witnessed year-on-year growth of 13%, with profit up 19% as of June 2018
Time Hotels’ impressive growth is matched by a pipeline that is just as impressive– the group currently has 17 properties either signed or in active development, which will add over 2000 rooms to its existing portfolio of 1500 keys.
“We have built our success on providing exceptional service through our friendly and dedicated teams, and a unique collection of market relevant properties providing outstanding value. This will continue to be the basis for Time Hotels’ strategy moving forward,” Awadalla tells Hotelier Middle East.
The mid-market hotel segment will play a big role in Time Hotels’ development plans, Awadalla notes, calling it a “huge growth sector” for the hospitality industry in the region.
He says: “There is massive pent-up demand for new midscale projects and a travelling public for whom a stay in a hotel doesn’t have to mean ultra-luxury, services on tap and room rates to match. We see the growth of the mid-market accommodation bracket in the UAE, and the region, as a potential catalyst for a new wave of visitors who, if they are able to reduce the cost of their hotel stay, would allow them to free up their budget to spend in other areas, from dining and attractions to shopping and excursions.
“Between now and the end of 2020, TIME Hotels will expand its presence in the UAE, and the wider GCC region, with the management of several new mid-market hotels in locations such as Fujairah, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.”
